This extensive remodel began with a novel idea from Todd Clark of Blue Moon Design Architecture: move the stairwell from the middle of the home and place the kitchen front and center as a showpiece.
The results are extraordinary. Cabinets from Ultracraft Cabinetry are finished in a driftwood inspired finish on cherry, and a custom teal blue island anchors the space. Polished quartzite surfaces beautifully contrast the hand-hammered zinc farm sink, and the coffered ceiling frames in the custom made burnished zinc range hood.
Wolf and Subzero appliances are mounted flush into the cabinetry, providing a tailored look. An 8’x11’ pantry houses a second sink, under counter refrigerator, microwave, and hides the countertop appliances, keeping the pristine counters uncluttered.
The boundaries of the kitchen are bordered by supporting beams wrapped with reclaimed lumber, helping to define the kitchen within the open floor plan.
