Kitchen Remodel with Extra Peninsula Storage

For this kitchen remodel in Simsbury, we had to work within the constraints of the existing floor plan while adding the comforts and conveniences of a modern kitchen. We designed a handy storage nook within an existing supporting wall that houses the microwave to add counter space.

The peninsula is a comfortable gathering area for a growing family. The spacious counter is Snowfall granite with an eased edge. Below, Homecrest Sedona cabinets in Sand Dollar paint with matching 5-piece drawer fronts the wine chiller. Making the most of the space, we added extra peninsula storage on the rear side.

The perimeter cabinets are Maple in French Vanilla. Conveniences include slide out double-garbage bins and a coffee nook (is that a modern convenience or a necessity?). Highlighting the custom backsplash, the granite counters continue around the perimeter to the sink, which features a bump out cabinet.
